Capital Campaign Project Updates
November 1, 2024
After the roof and air conditioning work, we added money to our reserves, taking good care of the gifts that God has entrusted to us. The final two parts of the campaign plan are: updating the kitchen area and improving resources for our children’s ministry. Work on the kitchen will begin in the new year. Thank you to everyone who has been working on the plans, especially our volunteer designer, Maria Manning. Not only are we getting a new kitchen and outreach center refresh but we will have new flooring throughout the whole of the church. Our children’s ministry will continue to use the newly renovated outreach center as their base but will have a whole new set of storage for all of their materials to be kept safe in a central location. If you would like to learn more about the plans, please talk to Fr. Richard or to our Senior warden, Howard Smith.

While the roof replacement was a blessing during the recent rains, these abundant rains brought another needed repair to light. Professionals told us that the old leaky stucco along the area where a wall and roof meet, needs replacement to prevent water from still getting through along that area. So, earlier this week, Robin and Robert, our sexton and project manager, did the demo work in preparation for professional re-stuccoing. Their work cleared an area of about 40 by 2 feet. You can see some pictures of their handy work in the photo gallery below (photos by Robert Montana). We are grateful to Robin and Robert for taking on this task, and to our donors for making these repairs possible.

Phase 3 of our Capital Campaign building work started last week with the arrival of the brand new HVAC system on January 26. Once again, a crane visited our parking lot, this time to take those shiny new things up to the roof. Project manager Robert Montana reports that some more installation work remains to be done, but in short time we should have heat and cool air when we need it. Thank you Capital Campaign donors! Some new pictures of the blessed event have been added to the picture gallery below.

The roofing company, electrician and plumber have been at work for the last couple of weeks, and the roofing project is coming to a close. While the actual work is finished, the trash needs to hauled off and the final walk through is yet to be completed. We’re ready to change our tune from “We’re singing in the rain,” to “Let it rain, let it rain, let it rain!” We thank all of our donors for making this possible and our project manager Robert Montana for seeing this project through! Check the photo gallery below.

Phase 2 of our building work started yesterday. The roofers cleaned debris in anticipation of laying down the new roof surface and the roofing supplies arrived. Our project manager, Robert Montana was on hand and will be glad to answer any questions you may have. Many thanks to Robert and to you, our Capital Campaign donors. Take a look at the photo gallery below.

Phase 1 of our building work is underway. The old air conditioning units have come down and the roof work will start soon. Roof work will likely be completed within the next few weeks, but air conditioning work will take longer (likely early 2023). Please talk to Robert Montana, our project manager, for more information and be sure to thank him for his ongoing work. Thank you to all of our donors who made it possible for us to start this important work. You can see pictures in the photo gallery below.
