Season of Creation: Japanese Garden project with Sunday School Children

The Season of Creation: September 1-October 4, 2023

The Season of Creation is a time to renew our relationship with our Creator and all creation through celebration, conversion, and commitment together. During the Season of Creation, we join our sisters and brothers in the ecumenical family in prayer and action for our common home. (Source: seasonofcreation.org)

The theme for 2023 is Let Justice and Peace Flow after the words of the Prophet Amos who cries out: “But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!” (Amos 5:24)

As the effects of climate change become more and more apparent and the ecological crisis surrounds us, we recognize the need for heightened awareness, education, elimination of our destructive behaviors and the learning of new, eco-friendly habits.

St. Mark’s observes the season with creation related displays, education/information for adults and children in Sunday school and creation focused liturgical elements and prayers.
