Hello again and welcome to St. Mark’s in City Heights.
Today I want to talk to you a little bit about creation.
I have heard their cry. I know their sufferings. Come, now! I will send you. I will be with you.
Exodus 3: 1-12
As Christians we are called to look after creation. This beautiful planet, this beautiful existence that God has given us. We live in this beautiful city but so often we do not take care of creation. And creation is not just about the environment, think about all of the things that creation feeds into: health, poverty, employment, racism and social justice to name just a few. They are all linked and we need to think about them and how we look after what God has given to us. So for the next five weeks we are going to be focusing on a season of creation, along with many churches across the country. We will begin this coming Sunday, when Brother Michael will lead us in Morning Prayer and then for the following four Sunday’s our Holy Eucharist will also be focused on the season of creation. I do hope that you will join us, online or in person at 9:15 a.m.
Until then, take care and God Bless.
Fr. Richard
