Our Lenten Mite Box collection will go toward the Interfaith Shelter. Due to the pandemic, folks will be housed in hotels (instead of churches). Our collection will help pay for these hotel stays, and other costs (e.g., meals, laundry, etc.) Please be generous! Mighty Mite Nighty Nite’s ingathering will be on April 10 (Palm Sunday). Below is more information about shelter costs as well as some statistics.
The current cost all-inclusive for hotel for 1 night for 1 household is $115.
A household can be up to 5 individuals.
Food costs per individual are $18 per day.
The outcomes from July 1-Dec 31, 2021, are as follows:
- 11,448 sheltered bed nights
- 118 adults
- 89 children
- 34,344 meals
- 38 individuals went to transitional housing
- 67 People went to Permanent housing
- 50.72 % of population transitioned into housing
- 23 gained income
- 57 maintained income
