Welcome the Karen

The Karen (pronounced like the name) are refugees from Burma. A good deal of information about them can be found at www.karen.org  About 13,000 new Karen will be coming to the United States with about 200 resettling in San Diego. While the majority are Baptists there are some like those who have joined us that are Anglicans. Our two families spotted the Episcopal Shield on our sign and came to worship and have been with us ever since we are trying our best to help with their resettlement.

We have a new wireless transmitter for that will transmit a translation of our service into Karen so they can worship with us in their own language. We look forward to learning more about their customs and lives as we share ours with them.
